Chapter 5

As I started to read this book, I will be honest, I thought it was going to be just another one of those cliche love story's, but after hearing that Jason wanted to "take a break" from his relationship with Macy it revealed to me that it may not actually turn out as simple as I thought. If I was in Macys position and I was only doing a job for my boyfriend and he then told me he wanted to take a break, I would most likely quit the job I was only doing for him. What would be the point of continuing to do something that didn't make me happy? It's obvious to me that even in this part of the story that the importance between Macy's job at the library and her catering job will be something her and her mom disagree on. I think that the fact Macy was willing to go help Delia even though she had a set schedule of her night, really showed me that she genuinely liked catering unlike her job at the library which I get the feeling that she doesn't really like. When Macy gets stuck in the ditch outside of Delia's house Wes comes to the rescue to help get Macy out. Although unlike movies I can't actually see the looks on Macy and Wes's face I can still feel just by reading that there was some sort of connection between the two of them. When Delia starts to talk about how she thinks that life should have chaos and imperfection I feel that Macy can really relate. She has just gone though so much but is still going strong. Although Delia doesn't know it, Macy's life is very similar to hers, they have both recently expierenced a death and are grieving in similar ways.
