 Chapter 1-3

As I have started reading "The truth about forever", I can already tell that I am going to be able to relate to the main character, Macy. She is a teenage girl, like me, and she is going through a challenge, her dad has just died. Although, I haven't gone through a tragedy like her, I do have everyday challenges that I face, I mean, who doesn't? For some reason, I have a feeling that as I read this novel I will find that Macy isn't just any other teenage girl who has recently faced something challenging. I have a sense that there is something different about her. Don't you just love that about books? How you can sense what may be coming up next? It's like a sixth sense or something... It's hard to explain, but I notice it every time I read, something where I just have this weird feeling  somewhere inside me; sometime my thoughts are right, and sometimes there wrong...

I can tell that Macy feels responsible for her Dad's death, she thinks, if I had just gone out that morning and ran with her dad, maybe he wouldn't of had a heart attack. I know, if that were to happen to me, I would feel responsible, but how could Macy possibly think that something like that was her fault? Why do we as people always have that thought in our head "what if?"
Macy probably thinks
"What if I had gone with him when he woke me?"
"What if my dad slept in late that day?"
"What if my dad wasn't always so stressed"
"What if  it had rained that morning"
"What if there was someone around to help faster"
What if?
But really, what happened, happened and most likely whatever he was doing he still would've had the heart attack.

As I continue reading through chapter 3 I realize what a major impact Macy's dad's death has made on her. Previously she hasn't shown her sadness but now I can really see how it's effecting her happiness and activities she used to love doing.
As I started to read page 57 I knew that something big was about to happen. This page had a letter from Macy's boyfriend, Jason. As soon as I started to read the letter I became furious! I don't see how Jason could "take a break" from dating Macy during such a hard time from her. At this point in the story we don't know that much about Jason other than that he is very smart and intelligent. This makes me think that maybe he isn't the right type of guy for Macy anyway...

After Macy read the letter from Jason she decided that just driving would make her feel better, it reminded me of the song, "Drive by" by Train.
